Уполномоченный по правам человека избирается Законодательной палатой и Сенатом Олий Мажлиса Республики Узбекистан сроком на пять лет. Кандидатура на должность Уполномоченного вносится на рассмотрение палат Олий Мажлиса Республики Узбекистан Президентом Республики Узбекистан. Решение Законодательной палаты и Сената Олий Мажлиса Республики Узбекистан об избрании Омбудсмана принимается большинством голосов от общего числа депутатов Законодательной палаты и членов Сената Олий Мажлиса Республики Узбекистан на их заседаниях.
Бессменным омбудсманом все это время является академик Академии наук, доктор химических наук, профессор Сайёра Рашидова. Избранная уполномоченным по правам человека в 1995 году, в 2000 году она была избрана на второй срок, в 2005 году – на третий, в 2010 году — на четвертый.

The Ombudsman is elected by the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of five years. The candidature for the post of the Commissioner is submitted to the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for consideration by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The decision of the Legislative Chamber and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the election of the Ombudsman is adopted by a majority of votes from the total number of deputies of the Legislative Chamber and members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan at their meetings.

The permanent ombudsman all this time is Academician of the Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Professor Sayora Rashidova. Elected by the Ombudsman in 1995, in 2000 she was elected for a second term, in 2005 — for the third, in 2010 — for the fourth.

Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of April 25, 2015 No. 102 «On further improvement of the implemented measures in the field of healthy nutrition of the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan» will form the Republican Commission for the organization and control of the implementation of a set of measures in the field of healthy nutrition of the population. Also, among the main directions of ensuring healthy nutrition of the population is the expansion of domestic production of basic types of food raw materials in accordance with modern requirements for quality and safety, as well as the development of production of food products enriched with essential ingredients, specialized products for baby food, dietary (curative and preventive) food products and dietary supplements.

Постановлением Кабинета Министров Республики Узбекистан от 25 апреля 2015 года №102 «О дальнейшем совершенствовании реализуемых мер в области здорового питания населения Республики Узбекистан» будет образована Республиканская комиссия по организации и контролю за реализацией комплекса мер в области здорового питания населения. Одной из основных задач Республиканской комиссии является разработка Концепции и комплекса мер в области здорового питания населения страны. Также в числе основных направлений обеспечения здорового питания населения является расширение отечественного производства основных видов продовольственного сырья в соответствии с современными требованиями к качеству и безопасности, также развитие производства пищевых продуктов, обогащенных незаменимыми компонентами, специализированных продуктов для детского питания, диетических (лечебных и профилактических) пищевых продуктов и биологически активных добавок к пище.

As a joint initiative of the Government of Uzbekistan and United Nations agencies in Uzbekistan, the report is an analysis and assessment of the country’s progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals for the period 2000-2013. The report identifies the key factors that contributed to the achievement of the MDGs, and formulated the tasks facing Uzbekistan in the coming years.
